The Tefroid Deposits on an Active Stratovolkano Bezymianny (Kamchatka)| Stephy Publishers

Image
Global Scientific Research in Environmental Science - (GSRES) | Stephy Publishers ISSN 2768 6124 Abstract The article highlights the results of a study of volcanic processes on the large active stratovolcano Bezymyanny, located on the Eastern mountain range of Kamchatka, in the Klyuchevskoy group of Holocene volcanoes. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, characterized by continuous short-term explosive eruptions with powerful outbursts of ash material, accompanied by lava flows and the formation of extrusions. Among Russian and foreign volcanologists, this volcano became world famous on March 30, 1956, when a catastrophic eruption occurred, which in geological literature was called a "directed explosion" or "an eruption of the Bezymyanny type." In addition to volcanic structures, peculiar volcanic-sedimentary deposits of the volcano were also investigated, represented by the so-called tefroids, which are the product of the movement and washing ...

Afforesting as a Way to Eliminate Haze and to Fertilize Plants| Stephy Publishers

Image
Global Scientific Research in Environmental Science - (GSRES) | Stephy Publishers Abstract Haze problem causes serious health risk and troubles to the human being. Traditional manners such as reducing vehicle uses and biomass burning etc. don’t workwell as was expected. More effective ways to address haze problem are urgently in need. From literatures, haze contains many vital elements plants growth, such as nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur, such thatabsorbing them as the fertilizers for forests or other ecological systems would be a more effective way to tackle the haze problem. In fact, the components in haze are suitable for fertilizing plants because they come from burningoil and coals which are dead plants and animals long time ago. Sincesoils with water in them are feasible to dissolve the ions in haze, combined with ecological functions of forests such as water transparency, harmful gases absorption, forests and other ecological systems can effectively absorb the haze an...

A Variant of a Regenerative Hydrogen Storage and Production System for Power Installations| Stephy Publishers

Image
Global Scientific Research in Environmental Science - (GSRES)| Stephy Publishers Abstract The aim of this work is to obtain cheap and environmentally friendly fuels for automobile transport, as well as reducing emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere with car exhaust. The problem can be solved by creating a system for producing technical hydrogen and its use in internal combustion engines and other power units. This article proposed using active metals, their alloys, or metal hydrides interaction with water to generate hydrogen. This proposal is based on an analysis of existing and possible methods of storing and transporting hydrogen. For the practical realization of this approach has been proposed the construction of the device of hydrogen storing and generating for powerful engines and vehicles. The functioning of the recommended equipment is to hydrogen generation by reacting the active metals, or their alloys, or metal hydrides with water in a polar aprotic or...

Urban Social Waste and Urban Solid Waste in Brazil: Problems, Consequences and Possible Solutions | Stephy Publishers

Image
Journal of Environmental Science and Research  |  Stephy publishers Abstract Brazil is a country of continental dimensions, with a surface area of 8,510,296km2 , which   is distributed among 26 federal states and a federal district. However, due to an extremely unequal income distribution, one of the major social problems that the country still faces is urban segregation, experienced by a large part of its almost 212 million inhabitants, who still find severe problems with housing, public transportation, security, health, employment, education and infrastructure, especially with regard tothe process of collecting and the treatment of waste generated. In the case of solid urban waste (SUW), approximately 190,000tons are produced daily, which implies a per capita production rate of 0.90kg(inhab.day)-1. Of the total generated, a fraction greater than 90% (w/w) is collected and, of this fraction, a percentage of 25% is still disposed of in open dumps, generating enviro...

Nursing Practice Environment and the Nurse Manager Intervention: Critical Review| Stephy Publishers

Recommendations for the Aluminum and Iron-Containing Composite Flocculants-Coagulants Use for the Purification of Natural River Waters and Industrial Wastewater| Stephy Publishers

Image
Journal of Environmental Science and Research - (JESR) | Stephy Publishers Abstract : Coagulation is the most widespread method of natural and wastewater purification from the bulk of colloidal, finely dispersed, and partially dissolved contaminants. The characteristics of the new composite flocculants-coagulants ASFC and ISFC developed by the authors compared to traditional aluminum and iron salts are given. The characteristics of natural waters, which were used to study the efficiency of using the obtained flocculants-coagulants, are given. To compare the effect of the developed materials with known products, we used such a parameter as their coagulation ability to purify high-color water from the Orsha river and medium-color water from the Volga and Tvertsa rivers in Russia. An attempt is made to assess the effect of magnetic treatment of the developed composite flocculants-coagulants. Based on the conducted research and production tests, recommendations were developed to use...

Image
Journal of Environmental Science and Research - (JESR) | Stephy Publishers Abstract: This research aims to Identify the areas with higher shortcoming in distribution of sanitation’s services, especially those related to the sanitary sewer and the main consequences to people’s health. The study’s field bounded three neighborhoods from Santo Estevão city (Alto do Porrão, Mutirão and Pau de Vela). For data collection, geoprocessing was necessary through the Global Positioning System (GPS), Cartography and Geographical Information System in order to demarcate the points relating to the water’s spatial distribution. Therefore, the areas with a significant frequency of diseases due to the lack of sanitary sewer were described in order to build thematic maps. The methodological procedure used was the case report because of its enabling nature to investigate the phenomenon here described, and also considering that city’s population was directly involved with the research. For data collec...
