 Basic Education of Nurses in the Republic of Croatia The aim of this paper is to analyse the existing secondary education programme for nurses in the Republic of Croatia. The analysis included a review of the Curriculum for the profession of General Care Nurse/General Care Medical Technician, available on the websites of the Ministries of Science, Education and Sports, and a review of scientific and professional publications in the field. The analysis extracted data on the objectives of education, duration of education, structure of the curriculum of the general education and vocational part, and staffing conditions for teachers. This paper contributes to the understanding of nursing education in the Republic of Croatia through an analysis of the current curriculum. The use of local herbs is dated back to many decades most especially in African countries. The 10 different oral conditions (toothache/decay, gingivitis, ulcerative gingivitis, angular stomatitis, mouth ulcers, swollen tonsil, oral thrush, tonsillitis, and black tongue) treatable with plants in traditional health practice documented in the literature were also noted in this study except for black tongue. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of local herbs on children’s oral health in Ado Ekiti. Fifty questionnaires were randomly distributed among parents in the study area. Studies show far better outcomes for clients, with positive results on nursing teams’ satisfaction and patients with improvements in the outcomes of patients and healthcare organizations. The Practice Environment Scale-Nursing Work Index (PES-NWI) is an instrument that measures the nursing practice environment and is currently the most used at a global scale. The analyzed article proves the instruments reliability in the assessment of the NPE, despite needing further investigation at a psychometric level; and its applicability in different care settings – Other countries besides the US. However, it is emphasized the need to carry out further experimental and longitudinal studies to potentially identify the mechanisms that influence the NPE.
