Variation in the Multivariate Relationships Between Serum Amyloid, Haptoglobin and Biochemical Profiles of Aborted and Non-Aborted Cows | Stephy Publishers

Archives of Dairy Research and Veterinary Science - (ADVS) | Stephy publishers Abstract: Because the time in which gestational loss or bovine abortion occurs is associated with multifactorial causes, the objective of this study was to assess multivariate relationships between the biochemical profile and acute phase proteins in aborted cows. We performed monitoring and monthly blood sampling during gestation in 140 dairy cows. A total of 18 cows aborted, which were considered ‘cases’; retrospectively, we used samples from 29 ‘control’ cows, which were taken at the same time. Thus, we compared multivariate relationships between the two groups, to evaluate variables potentially associated with cow abortion. We classified abortion as either infectious (due to DVB, leptospirosis or neosporosis) or non-infectious (protein or energetic imbalance evinced in metabolic profile). Of the 18 cows that aborted, there were 6 with evidence of positivity or seroconversion to the analysed diseases, 13...

Recommendations for the Aluminum and Iron-Containing Composite Flocculants-Coagulants Use for the Purification of Natural River Waters and Industrial Wastewater| Stephy Publishers

Journal of Environmental Science and Research - (JESR) | Stephy Publishers Abstract : Coagulation is the most widespread method of natural and wastewater purification from the bulk of colloidal, finely dispersed, and partially dissolved contaminants. The characteristics of the new composite flocculants-coagulants ASFC and ISFC developed by the authors compared to traditional aluminum and iron salts are given. The characteristics of natural waters, which were used to study the efficiency of using the obtained flocculants-coagulants, are given. To compare the effect of the developed materials with known products, we used such a parameter as their coagulation ability to purify high-color water from the Orsha river and medium-color water from the Volga and Tvertsa rivers in Russia. An attempt is made to assess the effect of magnetic treatment of the developed composite flocculants-coagulants. Based on the conducted research and production tests, recommendations were developed to use...

Comparative Study of Two Nebulized Preparations of Salbutamol in Children | Stephy Publishers

Image
Journal of Pediatrics and Clinical Neonatology - (JPCN) | Stephy publishers We conducted a prospective double blind randomized trial between April and December 2017 in which 30 children with asthma were included. Children were assigned randomly to receive nebulized Asthalin® or Ventolin®, with 15 patients included in each study arm. For each patient, oxygen saturation, presence of wheezing, retractions and thoraco-abdominal asynchrony, before and after Salbutamol nebulization were recorded. The effect of each treatment dose on oxygen saturation and respiratory rate after stratification of the initial population was analyzed. https://www.stephypublishers.com/pediatrics-and-neonatology/pdf/JPCN.MS.ID.000501.pdf https://www.stephypublishers.com/ https://www.stephypublishers.com/submit-manuscript.php

Journal of Pediatrics and Clinical Neonatology - (JPCN) Maternal and Neonatal Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura Immune thromb ocytopenic (ITP) is an autoimmune disease that affects 9.5/100,000 adults in the population.1 It is characterized by autoimmune destruction of platelets leading to potentially life-threatening thrombocytopenia. About 7% of pregnant mothers are affected by thrombocytopenia with 1 to 10 per 10,000 mothers being affected with ITP. Studies have shown that ITP is generally a benign condition in the birthing mother and rarely has a long-lasting effect on the newborn child.2 In the rare event that the newborn is severely affected, treatment is required. We present a case of ITP in both a mother and her newborn. https://www.stephypublishers.com/pediatrics-and-neonatology/pdf/JPCN.MS.ID.000504.pdf   https://www.stephypublishers.com/ https://www.stephypublishers.com/submit-manuscript.php
