21st-Century Oil and Gas Industry Research and Practices: New Petro-Geological Teaching The article discusses a new approach to the processes of oil formation. The author offers his own paradigm, or angle of vision into origin and life (space-time dynamics) of an oil and gas play. Special attention is paid to the analysis of risks and uncertainties in the petroleum business. The 21st century has been marked by many unexpected events to humanity in various spheres of life and economics, including oil and gas industry. While petroleum, or crude oil, mean energy source, fuel and raw material (a feedstock) for many industrial needs, upstream oil and gas companies identify, extract, or produce raw materials. Advancements in R&D field of the “petroleum business” have largely been the primary concerns of humanity. About 70,000 oil fields have been discovered in the world, of which 1,500 are large.  As many as 70 countries have proven oil reserves, more than 65 countries produce ...

Experimental Research on Bit Side Force and Anti-deviation in Vertical Well Based on dimensional method, the similarity criterion of simulation test was derived. The experimental apparatus was established in accordance with the similarity criterion. A series of experiments with different drilling parameter were carried out. The experimental results show that with rotary speed rise, the bit side force fluctuation increased, however, the vibration energy at the dominant frequency decreased, at low rotary speed, the dominant frequency of the bit side force is equal to rotation frequency of drill string, and at high rotary speed, the dominant frequency is consistent with the backward whirl frequency of drill string, which is about 3 times of rotation frequency, moreover, as WOB rise, the vibration energy at dominant frequency increased, while the total wave energy decreased, and the critical rotary speed value at the jump process of the dominant frequency increased. Furthermore, for t...

Study of Optimum Drilling Mud Formula In the work, a study was made of the rheological and physical-mechanical properties of cement grout mixture and grout cements. For a qualitative cementing process, an analysis of cement slurries was carried out with a study of changes in the consistency of cement slurries after a certain time. Thus, the acceleration of the process of drilling observation and production wells depends on the correct selected cement slurry.Oil-based emulsion drilling fluids are divided into two groups - emulsions of the first type and the second - reverse or invert emulsions. If the first hydrocarbon liquid is dissolved, then the latter are represented by dissolved water in the hydrocarbon liquid.1 Thus, depending on what is the dispersed phase and what is the dispersion medium, groups of emulsions are determined. According to the purpose, the solutions are divided into two groups - drilling fluids and special fluids (for work over (work over) and underground wel...

3D Modeling and Simulation of Subsea Structures Tieback to Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Unit for Offshore Field Development This paper seeks to model and simulate a 3D Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit and subsea structures for the separation of reservoir fluids. In this paper, each component on the hull of the FPSO and the subsea structures were constructively designed with Python codes written in Blender software according to ship building practice and offshore standards. Material (colour) was added to each component as well as environmental features to depict reality for deepwater operations with extreme weather conditions. Nanofiltration (NF) membrane separation technology was implemented into the modelling process for the purification of water to reduce the sulphate content for reinjection to boost productivity. Also, this study minimizes flow assurance problems to improve subsea production system (SPS) by installing a subsea separato...
