Renal Anomalies Detected on FDG and 68 Ga PSMA PET-CT Imaging in Cancer Patients| Stephy Publishers

Image
Advancements in Teleradiology and Radiotherapy - (ATR)| Stephy Publishers Abstract Renal anomalies may be seen and detected in all age groups, as an insidentally finding. We report the FDG PET/CT and 68 Ga PSMA findings in cancer patients with renal anomalies and situs inversus totalis in three patients. Keywords Renal anomalies, PET/CT, FDG, 68Ga-PSMA Introduction Metabolic characterization and primary lesion. Following a 4 hour fasting, while the patient had a blood glucose level of 152 mg/dL, 303 MBq (8.2 mCi) 18F-FDG was given i.v. after 60 min, images were taken from the calvarium to the soles of the feet in 3D mode to be 1 min per bed. PET-CT imaging demonstrated a subcarinal 1 cm lymphadenopaty (SUVmax: 10.42) and paraosephageal metastatic lympadenopaty (12x22 mm/ SUVmax: 20.68) at mediastinal region. In addition, an 32x26 mm mass compatible with primary malignancy (SUVmax: 20.14) was detected anteromedial section of gallbladder. An approximately 8x9 cm hypermetabolic mas...

Cardiovascular Disease Patient Prevention Experience with Nurses in the Primary Care Sector| Stephy Publishers

Image
SOJ Complementary and Emergency Medicine - (SOJCEM)| Stephy Publishers Abstract Introduction:  Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a common term used to refer to disorders affecting the blood vessels or the heart that have led to the majority of deaths worldwide. Aim:  The aim of the present study was to explore nurse's perception of their role and their experiences in relation to engaging with cardiovascular disease prevention in the primary care setting. Methods:  In the selection of clinical nurses who were interested in primary care to participate, qualitative describing design and impracticable sampling were used. The data collection methods include semi-structured and one-on-one interviews. The results were analyzed by the methodology for qualitative content analysis. Results:  In this study, 10 nurses were participated and their role in CVD prevention plays a part in health education, diagnosis and consultation, reassurance, monitoring of vital sig...

The Diabetic Foot: New Challenges in Management and Care| Stephy Publishers

Image
SOJ Cardiology and Current Trends in Surgery - (SOJCCTS)| Stephy Publishers Mini Review Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) remain difficult to heal and notoriouslytend to relapse, approximately 40% at 1 year and 65% at 5years. 1  In this context, progress is needed in 6 areas: Improved early diagnosis of neuropathy Early diagnosis of diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN) is importantfor several reasons.1,2 First, careful and regular medical follow-upshould be offered to avoid neuropathic DFUs. 1,2  Secondly, optimisedglycaemic control and correction of other vascular risk factors (e.g.hypertension, dyslipidaemia etc) should be diligently pursued. 1,2 Finally, daily foot hygiene and appropriate footwear are indispensable. 1  A number of practical bedside clinical tools contribute toimproved early diagnosis, such as the indicator test Neuropad assessingsweat production in the feet, Vibra Tip, the portable NC-statDPN Check device and others. 2  Neuropad has been extensiv...

Triple Umbilical Incision for Videlaparoscopic Cholecystectomy| Stephy Publishers

Image
Surgery International Open Access Journal - (SIOAJ) | Stephy Publishers Abstract Introduction: The laparoscopic surgery is done by using a single port. You place a device through a single incision between 18mm to 50mm and 3-4 trocars can be used. Our work consists of making 3 little incisions to put the three trocars which measure 5 mm and use conventional instruments that measure 36 cm of length of laparoscopic surgery within the internal limits of the umbilicus. Objective: Describe the surgery technique and evaluate the initial results of a laparoscopic cholecystectomy option through three intraumbilical incisions. Methods: It is a retrospective, descriptive, multicentre and observational study. Since June 2014 to August 2019, 20 patients, 17 females and 3 males, were operated using this method from the age ranges of 16 to 65 years old. The average surgical time was 65 minutes. Results: In all cases the procedures were concluded by the intraumbilical approach. One of the c...

Structure Optimization Design of Pulseoscillation Amplifier for Hydraulic Oscillator Based on Numerical Simulation| Stephy Publishers

Image
Trends in Petroleum Engineering - (TPE)| Stephy Publishers Abstract Hydraulic oscillator is one of the effective tools to solve the problem of high friction in directional drilling and horizontal drilling. However, there are some problems with this kind of tools such as high pressure loss and insufficient vibration force. Because of its self-excited oscillation characteristics, pulse oscillation amplifier can realize the amplification of pulse jet pressure under the condition of lowpressure loss, which is one of the effective ways to solve the above problems of hydraulic oscillator. In this paper, according to the working characteristics of hydraulic oscillator and the demand of pulse amplification, the structure of pulse oscillator amplifier was optimized based on numerical simulation method. Firstly, the geometric and numerical models of the pulse oscillator amplifier were constructed, and the flow field distribution and pulse amplification effect of the pulse oscillation amp...

Pedagogical Practices in Contemporary Education: Bullying Still a Challenge to be Faced| Stephy Publishers

Image
Trends in Nursing and Health Care Research - (TNHCR)| Stephy Publishers Abstract This work started from observations about comments, readings and in the media in general about education in contemporary society, and the importance of teachers and their responsibility in this context, since most families are known to believe that the school environment is the ideal place for your child's education, delegating to the teacher their education, which sometimes already deteriorates, regardless of school levels. We opted for searching for articles on Buylling, on the internet, books or magazines. The research is repeated, so there were few unpublished articles, around 13. Introduction Continuing, Bullying, is a word of English origin that has as root the term bull, "is a term used to designate a cruel, intimidating and/or aggressive person" Guimarães, (2009).1 A major challenge that teachers have been facing lately is Bullying, which designates aggressive purposeful practices...

Reverse Flow Sural Flap Coverage in Sequel of Electric Burn, Case Report| Stephy Publishers

Image
SOJ Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation - (SOJOR)| Stephy Publishers Abstract Reconstruction of injuries and defects in the distal third of the lower extremities represents a challenge for the plastic surgeon. The clinical case of a 46-year-old patient with a sequela of electrical burn in the distal third of the leg and the proximal third of the right foot is presented, who underwent skin coverage with a reverse flow sural flap. The treatment performed is described, as well as the surgical technique. We consider that the reverse flow sural flap is an optimal option when evaluating different forms of coverage in lesions of the distal third of the lower extremities, with positive long-term results. Keywords Electrical burn, Reconstructive surgery, Sural flap Introduction The repair of injuries and defects of the lower limb located in its distal third constitutes a challenge for reconstructive plastic surgery. The research reflected in different bibliographic sources has allo...
