Development of Instant Linear Gel for Coal Bed Methane Gas Operations| Stephy Publishers

Image
Trends in Petroleum Engineering- (TPE)| Stephy Publishers Abstract: Previously we prepared fracturing linear gel with fossil diesel, bio-diesel and also used suspending, anti-settling agents and emulsifiers. But through this research, a novel and efficient method for the preparation of linear gel directly mixed with water, guar gum and sodium acetate together instantly. In this instead of diesel, we used water and no need to mix anti-settling agents, suspending agents, emulsifiers that resulted in 30 viscosity linear gel. Ammonium persulphate or Ammonium peroxidisulphate and enzyme-G are used for oxidation purposes to break the gel gradually at a particular static temperature. The degradation pattern observed from the breaker test showed that a reduction in gel viscosity depends on time, temperature & breaker concentration. Observations from experiments revealed that a small concentration of breakers provides rapid break compared to oxidative breakers. This article, designing...

SOJ Diabetes and Endocrinology Care - (SOJDEC) |  Stephy Publishers Abstract Purpose:  In this study, we aimed to retrospectively evaluate the demographic data, clinical features, laboratory data, precipitating causes of diabetic emergencies, complications in the follow-up of adult patients who applied to our hospital due to diabetic emergencies. Methods:  The study included patients aged 18 years and older referred to a tertiary endocrine center with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS) hypoglycemia between January 2010 and May 2018. Results:  The study was carried out with 165patients, 69(41.8%) males, and 96(58.2%) females. The mean age of the patients was 43.8±20.4(18- 88). Of these patients, 77% (n=127) had DKA, 17% (n=28) had HHS and 6% (n=10) had hypoglycemia. Of the patients 55.2% (n=91) were type 1 DM, 44.8% (n=74) were type 2DM. When the precipitating causes of diabetic emergencies were examined, 32.7%(n=54) poor ...

Weight Loss Ameliorates Markers of Systemic Inflammation and Endothelial Dysfunction in Obstructive Sleep Apnea Obese Patients| Stephy Publishers

Image
SOJ Diabetes and Endocrinology Care - (SOJDEC) |  Stephy Publishers Abstract Background:  Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common sleep disorder in clinical practice. Its growing worldwide prevalence may be due to the rising incidence of obesity in the public. OSA has been increasingly recognized as a major public health issue, as it has a significant influence on the incidence and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases. Although, these abnormalities could be modulated with weight reduction, there is limitation in clinical studies have addressed the beneficial effects of weight reduction in modulating biomarkers of endothelial dysfunction and cytokines for obesity associated with OSA. Objective:  This study was designed to detect the effects of weight loss on the inflammatory cytokines and adhesive molecules in obese patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Methods:  Seventy obese patients with moderate to severe OSA (the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI)...

Bone Turnover Markers and Adipocytokinesresponse to Weight Reduction among Obese Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus| Stephy Publishers

Image
SOJ Diabetes and Endocrinology Care - (SOJDEC) | Stephy Publishers   Abstract Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a highly prevalent disease associated with increased the risk of fracture due to altered bone micro architecture and/or poor quality as key factors. Bone remodeling appears to be impaired among patients with T2DM as both markers of bone formation and markers of bone resorption are decreased when compared to healthy subjects. Objective: This study aimed to detect if weight reduction modulates adipokines and markers of bone turnover among T2DM patients. Material and Methods: Eighty obese patients with T2DM (46 men and 34 women), their age ranged from 40-53 years and their body mass index ranged from 30-36 kg/m2 were equally assigned into 2 groups: the weight reduction group received aerobic exercises, diet regimen, where the control group received medical treatment only for 6 months. Results: The mean values of body mass index (BMI), leptin, resistin, visfatin ...

Effect of Adrenergic Drugs on the Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Oxidative Stress and Liver Damage in the Rat| Stephy Publishers

Image
SOJ Diabetes and Endocrinology Care - (SOJDEC) |  Stephy Publishers Abstract Aim:  We aimed to investigate the effect of the adrenergic system on oxidative stress and liver damage during mild systemic inflammation in rats. Methods:  For this purpose, Eschrechia coli lipopolysacchride (LPS; 300 μg/kg) was intraperitoneally injected either alone or along with the α-2 adrenoceptor antagonist yohimbine, the non-selective β adrenoceptor antagonist propranolol, the and β-adrenoceptor agonist adrenaline and rats euthanized 4h later. The effects of these drugs in saline-treated rats were also studied. Serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase activities were measured. Liver tissue levels of Malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO), reduced glutathione (GSH) were determined and liver histology evaluated. Results:  In saline-treated rats (i) yohimbine caused significantly increased ALT, AST and ALP in serum. In addi...

Metabolic Risk Markers in Insulin Resistance and Non-Insulin Resistance Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus| Stephy Publishers

Image
SOJ Diabetes and Endocrinology Care - (SOJDEC) |  Stephy Publishers Abstract Aim:  Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is the most common metabolic disorder and its pathogenesis is characterized by a combination of peripheral insulin resistance and impaired insulin secretary capacity of pancreatic β cell. Over the years, there has been increasing deaths from T2DM. In Myanmar, there is little information on its causes, due to few published data on the prevalence of MS and its association with T2DM. This study aims at identifying the metabolic risk markers leading to MS in T2DM, as well as the impact of MS on the insulin resistance. Methods:  Hundred T2DM patients were recruited from Diabetic Clinic, Yangon General Hospital. The clinical evaluation consisted of waist circumference, blood pressure, height and weight measurements; the biochemical analysis included determination of fasting plasma glucose, serum insulin and fasting lipid profile. Plasma glucose level was...

Management of Labor and Psychiatricpostpartum Diseases Using Potential Anti-obesity and Antidiabetic Plants in Cameroon| Stephy Publishers

Image
SOJ Diabetes and Endocrinology Care - (SOJDEC) | Stephy Publishers Abstract Globally more than 550 women die per year from childbirth-related causes. Around 9% of women suffer from postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder after childbirth. Postpartum bipolar disorder is humor episodes such as mania, hypomania or depression, which start throughout pregnancy or in few weeks after child bearing. Fifty percent (50%) worldwide estimation of motherly deaths arise in sub-Saharan Africa region alone. Depression is a devastating temperament and mental sickness touching around 13% of postpartum mothers worldwide. The occurrence of 25%-60% of depression is typical of low- and middle-income countries. A combined prevalence of 14.4% of teenage deliveries was revealed in Cameroon where there is unsatisfactory information on the risk factors of motherly mortality and mother care after childbirth. In hinterland local therapists especially in Bororo and Pygmies communities, have developed indige...

Keeping a Healthy Figure Scientifically| Stephy Publishers

Image
Trends in Nursing and Health Care Research - (TNHCR)| Stephy Publishers Abstract  In a paper published on scientific American, February 2017, proposed that physical exercising does no help to energy expenditure so is useless to losing obesity. However, this is unbelievable and rebels the fact that exercising consume energy; furthermore, those who keep exercising and are good at sports are always very healthy with good figure, and their abilities to learn are remarkably higher than those who don’t exercise, such as Bruce Lee and many athletes on Olympics. It is a puzzle how the result in this paper was got. Read the paper carefully, noticing that the comparison is between the European people who think more and the Hadza people who only live on hunting and gathering, a relatively primary stage of the society, Hadza people have physical exercising while hunting but they don’t think therein, they just try every place out to find the poisoned giraffe without thinking where had...
