  Defibrillation Vector Change in CPR A Systematic Review Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and early defibrillation are essential for managing cardiac arrest. Defibrillation, which interrupts chaotic myocardial electrical activity, has traditionally been performed using an automated external defibrillator (AED) with pads in the anterolateral position.
